Escalade Celebration

Early Years – Primary School & Atelier

The Early Years, Primary School and Atelier celebrated the long‑standing Geneva Escalade tradition. To bring this special element of Geneva’s cultural heritage to life, children, teachers and educational staff all came to school in costume. In every group and class, the story of the Escalade was told or acted out together.

In the Atelier’s afternoon programme, the children crafted and decorated their own oversized marmite, which was later smashed in the sports hall in keeping with tradition. They also prepared their own vegetable soup, which was served with other treats during the afternoon goûter. A variety of games and activities created a wonderful atmosphere and great excitement among children and adults alike.

It was a truly joyful celebration and a thoroughly successful day for everyone involved!
