German-French School

from age 3

The German School of Geneva (DSG) was founded in 1975 and has been at its current home  in Vernier since 2007.

With 40 teachers and 450 students from more than 20 nations, the school has an excellent student-teacher-ratio.

It offers a bilingual German-French curriculum from the age of three.

The school is also known for its German-as-a-foreign-language courses, which are attended by over 500 children every year who produce excellent results in the final language exams.

Our students finish their curriculum in the 12th grade by obtaining the "Deutsches Internationales Abitur" which gives them access to the best universities in Germany, Switzerland and the rest of the world.

We offer a wide program of German courses for children and teenager aged 4 to 18 taught by qualified native speakers.

As an official examination centre of the Goethe-Institut we offer German language exams for children and teenagers.

Our primary school is a place where we live and learn. We play, we invent, we listen, we tell stories, we experiment and succeed in a happy environment! From the first year on, children learn to speak, read and write in German and French. By the end of the 4th year, they can switch confidently from one language to the other - both in speaking and writing.

Give your children the opportunity to speak German!

Painting, playing, having fun, dressing up, dancing, doing gymnastics or handicrafts, and learning both in German and French - that's what awaits children in the kindergarden and our preschool.

Children are accepted from their 3rd birthday and admissions are possible during the year, if places are available.

The fundamentals acquired at an early age guarantee rapid progress in learning English from year 5 (7P Harmos) and Spanish (optional) from year 8 (10 CO). Pupils also acquire a strong basis in natural and social sciences with advanced courses in biology, chemistry, physics, history, geography and political science available, taught by passionate and committed teachers.

With the completion of the extension building in early 2022, the DSG campus is now 10,000m2 with state-of-the-art technical equipment, including science rooms, digitized classrooms, 2 gymnasiums, a rhythmic room and a centre for art and music.

The DSG is equipped with modern multimedia facilities. Students have their own iPads. Digital media are an integral part of the school curriculum and are widely used in class.
